Specialist Engineer -

Opportunities exist in our Advanced Technical Services division in the London office for highly motivated Engineers interested in advanced engineering analysis.

The role will involve solving complex structural engineering problems by application of a range of sophisticated analysis and design techniques.  A good theoretical and practical knowledge of the finite element method for non-linear and dynamic analysis would be very beneficial, as would experience in the development of software tools for solving engineering problems.  Previous exposure to software development, wind engineering, seismic design, offshore structures, Computational Fluid Dynamics and numerical analysis techniques generally would also be desirable.  Familiarity with UK and European design codes, standards and regulations is expected. 

The ability to work independently or within a team structure and a practical approach to solving problems is essential.  You will have excellent organizational, time management and communication (both written and verbal) skills.

Senior Construction Solutions Engineer (Temporary Works) -

We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, Engineer with experience in the development of concept and detailed structural designs, craneage schemes, and construction stage analysis. Candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in numerical modelling and finite element analysis with reference to a portfolio of relevant completed structures.  Candidates must be familiar with British and European standards and codes of practice.  

The position will require the design of steel and concrete structures, deep-basement propping, façade retentions, complex crane grillages, gantry-crane design, and bespoke moving platforms. Development of erection and disassembly schemes for special structures for cranes and other specialist plant, including site wide schemes for top-down construction and other special structures is also required.   Experience in the construction of large civil structures, or in mechanical components would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be required to actively participate in the development of engineering solutions using their technical skills as well as their knowledge of design and construction.  In addition to the desired technical requirements, we are looking for a person with an excellent attitude to promoting high standards and excellence throughout the team.  Some commercial management experience and the ability to assist with the marketing of the UK business would be of benefit.
